  • 10/09-10/09 NHS Derby City Primary Care Trust Business Intelligence Unit – Knowledge Officer
    • The main responsibilities in this role involved:
    • Working with the Knowledge Services team to produce the Business Intelligence Unit reports. This involved researching the subject matter to produce evidence based outputs
    • Creating, developing and implementing aspects of the directorate Knowledge Management Strategy by conducting research into best practice and making recommendations
    • Building a digital library to enable reports, published by the Business Intelligence Unit, to be available electronically to external stakeholders.
  • 06/09-10/09 Derbyshire Mental Health NHS Trust – Data Migration and Cleansing Analyst
    • Derbyshire Mental Health NHS Trust was an early adopter of the Lorenzo system supplied by CSC as part of the NHS National Program for IT. The main responsibilities in this role involved:
    • Developing a data migration plan from local source systems to the Lorenzo CSC platform
    • DBS/MACS tracing (improving data quality)
    • Developing cleansing routines to meet IQAP standards (national data quality standards)
    • Liaising with suppliers (CSC)
    • Sharing knowledge of data migration internally and to other Trusts
    • Data analysis using SQL
    • Producing Process Documentation for data migration and other business processes (MS Visio).
  • 08/08 - 06/09 Avoca Systems – Graduate Data Consultant
    • The Avoca Systems Graduate Scheme enabled me to receive comprehensive training and work experience in Data Consulting and complemented my studies in Information and Knowledge Management. Training included key data analysis and migration techniques using SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel.

      After completing the scheme, I was selected to work on the live Newcastle NHS Trust Migration (Cerner Millennium) and the Birmingham Women’s NHS Trust Migration (Lorenzo) projects as a Data Consultant. During these roles my main responsibilities were:

    • Source system analysis using SQL
    • Mappings from the source to the destination system
    • Identifying data cleansing business rules
    • Liaising with clients
    • Data Set Configuration.
