Profile
I have done bachelors in mechanical engineering, with honour, from Pakistan and masters from France in "Production systems and Industrial automation" on a French government scholarship. Presently, I am doing a PhD. at Aston University in Technology Management on a scholarship awarded by the government of Pakistan.
I have more than ten years of field experience in varied fields in various capacities. I have worked at the installation and commissioning of power and cement plants, designing and fabrication of mechanical items and their testing, trouble shooting etc. My job responsibilities have included project management, capacity and team building, quality assurance, and design, fabrication and testing of various mechanical systems.
Research Project
Project Title: "Competence management in manufacturing export-oriented small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries".
Companies are competing with each other with similar resources, but few win orders and even less few grow and prosper with time. The research is about identifying the successful companies' capabilities, which keep them competitive over time. The research further will explore the factors which keep these capabilities rejuvenated and detail good practices of these SMEs, which could be made available to other SMEs for efficiency and productivity
